Our grandsons sporting their new coonskin caps, and Daughter-in-Law Kristi. No raccoons or other creatures were harmed in making this photo.
Newest Grandson Raiden spreading Christmas cheer.
Santa came by fire truck to greet the family.
The Clauses and Townes meet on the street.
An ice storm on the first day of our visit made the whole area an especially magical place. These are ice crystals on one of the plants in Brian and Kristi’s yard. All the bare-limbed trees were covered in icicles. A real treat for we travelers from sunny California. I’d likely be less thrilled about such things if I had to live through an entire winter of them.

I’m pleased to introduce one of the co-stars of my latest book project for young children titled, Flora Belle and Dreami Dragon. Flora Belle is a carousel horse who loves what she does but sometimes gets bored and decides to go on an adventure. I wanted a water color look and feel for this story and selected Jack Wiens as the illustrator. I love his creations and he has been very easy to work with. I plan to release Flora Belle and Dreami Dragon in March 2017 to honor the birth of our first granddaughter who is schedule to be born at about that time.

I love this saying. It’s a great reminder. But what if our wildest dreams have already come true? To me the answer is gratitude and helping others to make their dreams come true.

After over two weeks with her left leg above her heart, My Beloved’s leg has healed to the point where she can walk on it without much discomfort (versus excruciating pain just a few days ago.) She is up and practically running around. Heidi normally only has two speeds, blazingly-fast or stopped, and she often forgets the latter.
The wound doctor today said the damage to the leg was so extensive that it may take a year to fully heal, but there is a decent chance she won’t have permanent scarring. Heidi plans to return to work on Monday.
She asked me to convey her gratitude to all of you for your prayers, calls, cards, kind messages, and good wishes. Thank you!
With love,
Russ
