Never a Dull Moment

Our tiny home is overflowing with love. And noise. And craziness. The reason: Five grandchildren under the age of five. Our son Brian and his wife and three boys are visiting from Maryland, and our other son Ben, and his wife Kristi and son and daughter are visiting from locally to be with us and them. With our daughter Stephanie and her boyfriend, my Beloved and me, that makes lucky thirteen people and two medium-large dogs.

The latest wackiness: One of our three oldest grandsons came out of the bathroom with his head wet after using the toilet.

His Daddy: “Why’s your head wet?”

Grandson: “I washed my hair.”

His Daddy: “Where did you wash your hair?”

Grandson: “In the toilet?”

His Daddy: “WHAT!?!?”

Grandson: “I put my head in the toilet.”

His Daddy: “Before or after you peed?”

Grandson: “After.”

Have I said lately how much I love being a grandfather?

With Love,

Russ

True, except for when they make us feel very, very old. The women were gone for ninety minutes and our new granddaughter wailed in my arms this afternoon for almost an hour straight despite me going through the checklist I know by heart to deal with crying kids. I feel very old at the moment.
