I’ve written some fictional suspenseful crime drama stories and I seek volunteer Beta Readers to experience and provide feedback to me about them. It’s an opportunity to be among the first to see some my edited stories in draft form. I’m especially interested in getting feedback regarding continuity errors, plot holes, any things that throws readers out of the story, and what the Beta Readers thought were the strong and weak parts of the tale(s). The stories tend to be relatively short, and darker and grittier than my work in other genres.
In “No Choice at All.” A man on his way to the most important meeting of his career makes a fateful decision when he sees a suspicious scene on the side of a dark lonely road and stops to check an older woman who might be in trouble. Soon he is in way over his head fighting to save the lives of two women from four vicious men and live to tell about it. 2045 words.
“Desperate Journey” is set in the early seventies and is about two young women and their children are stranded on the side of a freeway at 3am with two blown-out tires. Two truckers offer to take one of them to get new tires, but the men aren’t what they seem… 4,793 words.
I plan to complete another story or two in the next two or three weeks.
The Beta Readers I select can choose to read one, some, or all of the four or five stories I plan to feature in this book project, and those with mailing addresses in the U.S. will receive a signed copy of the book from me shortly after it’s released. Those outside the U.S. will receive an unsigned copy directly from Amazon.
