A reporter from our local newspaper is scheduled to interview me next week about my books, what got me into writing at such a late stage in life, where the ideas for my books and stories came from, why such a large variety of genres, how I managed to write so many so quickly, etc. I look forward to the adventure and opportunity.
I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.
You will post about this? Congratulations.
Yes. I plan to have a followup post to let people know how the interview went from my perspective. I’ll have to wait to see what ends up in the newspaper to know how it went from the reporter’s perspective. ;-D!
Look forward to update.
Hopefully there will a link to the paper, and we can read the interview. Congrats!
Thank you, Annette. One way or the other I plan to let you know what is written.
How exciting… if he needs any input from folks who knew you ‘way back when’… (when you began writing)… you know how to reach me …Ha! Diane
Thank you, Diane!
p.s. I just ordered 3 of your books for Christmas gifts… I’ll leave a review when I get them and read the whole of the content…. Diane
That’s the best “p.s.” I’ve received in a good long while. Thank you, Diane, for not only the purchases but the for the reviews! Both mean a lot to me!
how exciting and good luck!
Thank you, Beth!
CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK with it Russ 😀
Thank you, Chris. Over the weekend I’d forgotten about the interview until I just now saw the email with your comment. That surprises me and I’m not sure what to make of it.
Just be yourself Russ.
Good luck with the interview, Have you done any before? Look forward to reading about it.
Hi, Anika. I’ve been interviewed a few times before over a variety of topics (usually related to my profession) but never relating to books or as a writer. So, this is a first that I’m looking forward to experiencing.
I hope the reporter lobs her questions at me. I can see her article now: “Local reporter exposes man of claiming to be an author. Obvious fraud. No real talent. Man is arrested during interview and hauled away in cuffs.” ;-D!
This has me chuckling away Russ! At least you’d make the front page this way! I started off as a journalist and they’ll be happy to get some great quotes from you, personal stories /anecdotes and if possible I’d advise to have a type of press release ready with all the info regarding availiblity of book, price, launch events. Not that I ever got anything wrong mind but it does happen. Cheers, Annika
How wonderful, you tell him you are famous across the pond here in the UK too….. well in my house and school. Super Russ! Tell us all about it, I am so excited for you! 🙂
Thank you, Ute. Being famous in your house and school is something I’ll always be immensely proud of and never take for granted.
Well done, brilliant Russ!
Thank you, Willow! I appreciate your kind comment.
Make sure you let us all see the interview when it is published and that the reporter is aware of your wonderful blog.
Thank you, Clare. I appreciate your encouragement and suggestion about the blogs.
