App helps blind people see
‘Be My Eyes’ is a free iPhone app that connects blind people with sighted volunteers via a video call.

This could also be a great way to volunteer and make the world a brighter place,
though hopefully soon the middleman volunteer will be unnecessary.

I agree, Diana. It’s such an awesome idea that I plan to attempt to find out how to be a volunteer set of eyes via the app.

I hope and believe that what they’ll think of next is an automated version of this app so the user doesn’t need to wait for a volunteer to be available before they can obtain the blind person can get they info they need. Then hopefully eye/vision replication technology and more eye transplants. I believe over time that solutions for all or nearly all forms of blindness will be developed.
Something to look forward to, Russ. All kinds of wonderful discoveries are happening faster these days. ❤
While it’s indeed wonderful, the discoveries can’t happen too fast for me. I’m not getting any younger, and am likely to need many of them much sooner than I’d prefer!
