This Buddy Really Came Through

My Old Friend-Final Mix

There are so many sad stories about homeless people in my country, that when I find an especially happy one I like to share it.

This is the story of a homeless man in a remote part of Washington state who had a medical emergency and couldn’t move. He had no cell phone and no one was anywhere near him. No one, that is, except his Australian Shepherd dog named Buddy.

The man wrote a note asking for help and attached it to Buddy’s collar and sent Lassie–err, I mean Buddy–to get help. Buddy came through, and the man has been treated, and the man and dog have been reunited.

I wrote the lyric to to a song about the special bond between people and dogs. A link to it is included in this post in case you’d like to hear it. It might take a few moments to download.
