The Herd

In the piece below I was able to combine two of my favorite passions, investing and poetry.
Russ

The Herd
Following the herd has kept people alive
For many thousands of years.
But they tend to forget in investing
That herds often get sheared.

It’s become so in-grained
In most peoples’ brains
That they do it
Again and again.

And when they do
They forget who
Keeps a lot of the profit
In the process

This is a case where a habit hurts
And can be very hard to break
But some will try when they realize
That their future is at stake

Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders.
