I Pity the Poor Burgler

As I locked up to head for bed, the thought occurred to me that there are 6 dogs at our house tonight. That crazy number includes some we’re watching for relatives. I chuckled at what would happen to a burglar who made the mistake of hitting our house tonight. I was tempted to leave the doors unlocked, but couldn’t do it. I locked the doors to protect the poor burglars.

With love,
Russ

LOL! True. I just re-read “Call of the Wild” and am about to start re-reading “White Fang” so I guess the “Law of Fang and Claw” were on my mind. I’m re-reading a lot of my favorite books I’d read as a child or young teen and am enjoying noting the different reactions to various parts of the stories now that I have nearly five more decades of life experiences under my belt. Cued up are RL Stevenson’s “Kidnapped” (I already finished Treasure Island), then it’s on to Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, then Burrough’s Tarzan of the Apes.
