I just wrote a short story for those who felt picked on and ridiculed as kids. It is labeled fictional, but in truth, all of the things that happened to “Chris” actually happened to me (except the part about other younger boys helping me). The rest of the story is fiction. You can find the story here:

About russtowne
I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.
Big hugs to you “chris” so happy you’ve written about it and hopefully healed. Nobody deserves to be treated that way, especially you! ♥
Thank you. A lot of healing and forgiving has happened since those days. Now I only wish lasting joy for everyone.

Me too Russ…me too! ♥
My your wish come true.

There’s more ways than just using your fists to stand up. Bravo, ultimately people bully us until we stop it.
Thank you, Bill. I agree.

Russ – Thanks for sharing your story. Often it’s the hard stuff we write about that helps others see that they too can work through their own pain and finally make it to the other side.
Thank you, Sheri. I agree and like the way you said it.
