Here are the cover photos I hope to use for my non-fiction books being released late this month “From the Heart of a Grateful Man” and early in December “Reflections of a Grateful Man”. They were taken by a dear friend named John Lasersohn.
I believe the photos capture my spirit and the spirit of these books extremely well, and two of my favorite types of places in nature.
Such peaceful places make me feel at home, as they nurture, refresh, inspire, and re-connect me to the best parts of my self and the world.
It is my hope that these books will do for others what such places do for me.
I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.

I love the photos and they should go down well on a book cover…
Thank you, bulldog. I believe so too. Russ
These are beautiful, I could sit near this little river for hours in peace and feel happy! Great choice!
Thank you, Ute. I’m glad you like them.
Wonderful choices Russ..and i can see how they would inform the content of your book..
I’m pleased that you like them, Mimi.
They nurtured me this morning. Thank you!
I’m delighted to hear that, Ann. I love the word “nurtured” and its meaning.
I’m with you…Water…Redwoods and the smell of the forest…I am at home. The bottom one reminds me of Saratoga Springs area…are they local pictures?
I too feel so at home when I’m at such places. I believe they were both taken at or near Berry Creek Falls along California’s Lost Coast.
Wonderful photos ~ they are perfect!
Thank you for your kind comment about these photos. I’m delighted that you like them too.
They are indeed beautiful photos Russ….You haven’t asked for any feedback so I’m a bit hesitant to offer…but that’s never stopped me right… Just wondering if somehow their could be a reflection of you (or a man in general) in the water …for your book entitled Reflections of a Grateful Man… Again….the photos are beautiful as they are… it just was a passing thought…Diane
Thank you, Diane. I always love to hear your suggestions. I’ll ponder this idea.
I love them both, beautiful!
Thank you, Michelle. Speaking of beauty, I believe you have a beautiful name.
Thank you, Russ.
