My Kickstarter project is up and running. Here is a link to the project. Please check it out. I’d appreciate your feedback. I have much to learn about this fascinating new phenomenon.
This campaign enables people from around the globe to participate in bringing these books to life and quickly into the hands of children and their loved ones.
Love,
Russ

About russtowne
I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.
I think this is great – my only ‘constructive’ comment? Smile at the camera! You’re trying to engage your audience, and the narrative about the stories is great and definitely grin-worthy…
Thank you, Mimi. I appreciate your excellent feedback. At this point the video is done and in use as is, but I will certainly keep that in mind for future use. I don’t know if I’ll do other Kickstarter projects but this one has been a great learning experience and adventure. Hopefully it also proves to be a fruitful one!

I can’t imagine how it can’t be successful – it’s really terrific!!!
I appreciate your kind comment, Mimi. (BIG SMILE!) ;-D!
Russ
P.S. I figured the Kickstarter project would also give curious readers an opportunity to see what I look like. Then they’ll know why I use a carved wooden bear as my avatar rather than a photo of me!
And I still don’t understand that – you’re a handsome man Russ!!! (Probably even cuter when you smile…;-))
LOL! Thank you, Mimi. Maybe it’s because I only have two teeth. (Kidding! But I’ll bet it got a smile out of you!)
You’re right – a smile and a loud guffaw!!
:-D!
good luck – this is an interesting concept – it would make more sense if there were some shares or other ROI… at least to me.
Thank you for your good wishes and feedback, Bill. Creative ventures often don’t result in financial ROI. Backers and patrons of the arts often do so for other reasons. I believe that the idea with Kickstarter is that it enables a lot of regular folks to easily and collectively support the arts and projects that they deem worthy of their interest and help.

I learned a new thing today! Thanks Russ !
:-D!
I agree with minijk!
Thank you for your comment. (Big smile.) ;-D!
Russ
That’s the one!! You are perfect apart from the friendly reassuring smile!! 😀
Thank you! :-D!
Russ, you are such an optomist-in reference to my I close my eyes prose, i was referring to closing your eyes for the last time-for real….even a pessimist-realist like me can not resist another look at the night sky, full moom, beach at sunrise, etc….If you are not a psychologist, you missed your calling! beebee
Thank you for the additional info and kind comment, beebee. May it be a long, long time until THAT day for you, my friend, with countless joyous experiences between now and then.

Hmm…Mimi is prolly right, but I think you are adorable! So sincere, and articulate. Your sincerity is HUGE! And intentions pure, and so that really comes across.
I am sharing to Fuh Beebs…and you know? I had the same (ish) idea for when I finally let Remix go…a sitdown videe kinda explaining how it all came to be. A vastly different Once Upon…
Your illustrator is an 11, basically, too. On that scale of 1-10, naturally.
Thank you! Your comments brightened my morning, my friend. Thank you for spreading the word about my project and books. I’d like to discuss various ways we can do more to get the word out about each other’s creative endeavors. You are welcome to email me if you’d like. I agree about my illustrator. He is wonderful.
Russ
Your message is so sincere and your books are inspiring, as are you. Coming over to check the kickstarter. You know I’ve actually studied crowd sourcing one semester. Btw, maybe an idea, listening to your voice, I thought you really have a great storyteller voice for sound books! What you’re doing is really inspiring!
Thank you for your compliments and kind comments, Kristi.
