I have been ill with the flu or food poisoning. My Beloved took great care of me, and my dog Duke stayed and laid by my side. His devotion reminded me of a song I’d written to honor him and all humans and dogs who share a bond of love.

I mentioned earlier that I was going to more consistently write songs from my heart instead of focusing on a market or industry norms. "My Old Friend" is from my heart, and is my tribute to the special bond that many people have with their dogs, and to the bond shared by my old friend Duke and I.
I wrote the lyric. Kevin Harris created and played the music and was the vocalist.

Such beautiful sentiments in this song, Russ, and so true. I remember having an operation and being down for the count for a week. My Doberman Chance laid by my side all day,every day, only getting up to accompany me on bathroom breaks. These animals are such a blessing….

I am truly blessed. Thank you for your comment. I feel fine now, but my poor pregnant DIL is having a severe case of All-Day (Morning) Sickness. She is on a plane headed home right now. I feel so sorry for her.
