Dream-Kiss

I work from home and have no commute, so My Beloved often leaves for work before I rise in the morning. That leads to a morning ritual that I love:

The Dream-Kiss

Asleep in our bed
So soft and warm.
A gentle touch
On my shoulder
Tells me she’s there.
My head slightly lifts
Sleepy eyes barely open.
She kisses my lips
Whispers “I love you”
Then is gone.

About russtowne

I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.

the importance of your love is that it is a model for your children and others to see what true love is.

how will others learn love if they never see it modeled? my wife would have to title mine, the dream snore ( sigh )

LOL! Snoring is sometimes one of my “features” too. The “good” news is that My Beloved and even our dogs join in on our nocturnal “song”. It is rarely a good idea to be the last one asleep in our house.
