Here’s to Grandma’s Everywhere

“Grandma’s are mom’s with lots of frosting.” (As seen in a post at Zen and Genki’s blog honoring her Grandma. It was a wonderful tribute.)

About russtowne

I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.

I love my natural “frosting,” and I prefer to call it “silver” – not gray. But when I went to get my license renewed and I tried to list color of hair as silver, the man behind the counter told me that wasn’t an option. Darn DMV! Don’t you think it’s time they got with the program??

I know what you mean, Jan. I have dark brown and WHITE hair. I don’t have a gray hair on my head. I think the white hair looks nice. I agree that the DMV needs to get with the program.
