Kindness Behind a Counter
Last night I went into a sandwich shop on the way to a meeting and as I thanked the cashier and turned to find a table to eat my HEALTHY (thank you Mimi and Gina!) sandwich, the cashier yelled “Wait!”. I turned back toward her and she pointed at my feet and said “Twenty”. Sure enough, I’d dropped a twenty dollar bill as I juggled a bunch of stuff trying to put the change back into my wallet. I hadn’t noticed. Thankfully for me, she had, and had a kind heart.
Kindness in a Car
A close friend named Tom recently had extra tickets to see a ball game and invited me to come along. Thank you, Tom! We were waiting in one of two parallel lines of cars (one for people with free parking passes–the one we were in–and the other for people who would have to pay $30 to park their cars). When we were only one car away from the entrance Tom remembered that he had a second free parking pass that expired that day. He honked his horn to the car next to us and I gestured to the other driver to please roll down his window. When he did, Tom asked if he would like a free parking pass. The driver gave a big smile to us as he shook his head with an enthusiastic yes. I jumped out of Tom’s car, gave it to the driver, and said he could cut in front of us so he could be in the parking pass lane. Later as we parked and walked through the lot toward the stadium, the driver and his wife found and thanked us for the kindness. It was a great way for all four of us to start the game!

Acts of kindness warms the heart…we had a lady give us one of her tickets to the dolphin show at the zoo recently.she just walked back and said I have an extra one…you can have it. Saved us sipome money.
My dad was leaving Oregon after spending time with his niece and at the airport dropped an envelope with a big amount of money in it…a kind TSA worker found it and gave it back. I was so happy cause it would have hurt his soul to lose such amount and would have hurt me knowing he was headed to my place and I wouldn’t be able to refund it.
I enjoyed reading this :)!
I love to hear such stories, Boomie!
Thank you for sharing them!

It’s always the little things in life that make it so rich. What a lovely thing to do π
And the little things add up to a rich life! Thank you for your feedback!

Little acts of kindness show that most people are kind and helpful. It is only that very small percentage that make us all look bad. There were no bells and whistles when the cashier told you about the twenty dollar bill you dropped, nor when your friend gave away his parking pass. No reporter was there reporting these occurences. However, they are more important than 99% of the news shown on the TV. Way to go!! π
I really liked your comments and agree with what you said. Thank you for saying them!
Russ
You’re my kinda guy!

Great stories and you know I have done that given away a free parking pass because I didn’t need it and it was going to expire…………also on Saturday when I was buying some cakes for my mum I was undercharged $5 and yes some people would just think score………….but not me I mentioned it and paid the extra $5…………….
Good for you! I believe such decisions make the world better which can’t help but be a good thing for the person making them.
Russ

I’m glad they made you feel good too!

Two wonderful examples of the fact that there is indeed still goodness in the hearts of ‘man/woman’….Diane
Yes. It is great knowing that millions–probably billions–of such kind acts occur every day.
