Monday Morning Wake-Up Call

via Monday Morning Wake-Up Call

I really like this, especially these lines:

The purpose of life is not to maintain personal comfort; it’s to grow the soul…”The work” does not need to be grand, only fitting. It is guided by asking ourselves over and over: What is the next right thing?

With love,

Russ

I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.

Hey Russ, I don’t ask myself over and over, “What’s the next right thing?” But I do ask that question. Before I leave my sanctuary each morning and head down the circular staircase to the “real world,” I ask God, “As I walk in Your Way today, help me meet who You want me to meet, and tell me what You want me to say; help me be who You made me to be, and show me what You want me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen”. That’s the long-winded way to ask God, “What’s next?” God probably likes your version best! 🤪

  2. I just take things as they happen and roll with the flow

Going with the flow certainly has its rewards.
