The Magic of Enough

I call it my “Happiness Threshold.” There is an income level that once I’ve achieved it, I’ve found any additional income doesn’t make me any happier. I make a good living now, but there have been times when I made three times as much and other years where I had no household income at all due to a failing prior business, yet I’ve never been happier than I am right now.

I’ve learned that once my basic financial needs are met, additional money doesn’t make me happier. That knowledge freed me from the treadmill pursuit of “More” so I can focus on doing what I love, and that has led to a greater joy than I ever knew was possible.

May your day be filled with blessings.

“Getting rich is life’s biggest booby prize. People who aren’t happy want to be rich. I want to be happy.” –Samuel Adams Beer Founder Jim Koch

With love,

Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.
