Some of you have asked how our home addition and remodel are coming along, and some asked for photos. The project is finally at the point where the photos give a good idea as to what we’ve been up to for the last seventeen eighteen months.
The first two images are from the old part of the house looking down the hallway into out new master bedroom (two the left of the doors at the end of the hall) and my new office (through the french doors at the end of the hall.) Our black lab Sadie photo-bombed the second shot. The floors were installed today and the interior painting will be completed on Wednesday.
Two views of our new master bedroom is above. It has two sets of french doors that each open onto small a covered patio so we can experience sunrises on one and sunsets on the other. The middle set french doors in the photo open to my office. Our other dog, Penny, a cattle dog, took the opportunity to photo-bomb the second shot.
Above are two shots of my new office. Two large windows dominate it. One overlooks my small and much-loved redwood grove and fern garden and the other much of the rest our back yard. The second photo is from my office down the hall to the old part of our home.
Our master bathroom is above. It is wheelchair accessible. (Thinking ahead.)
Above are our laundry room (temporarily being used for storage while the interior painting is being done) and the smaller of our two walk-in closets. This one will be used by My Beloved as a storage room for her teaching supplies.
Above is the larger walk-in closet. Baseboards will be installed shortly and the painting supplies will be removed.
With Love,
Russ
Wow that looks wonderful, your office is the best with the windows and the views. Just imagine what inspiration will fly in…. All looks amazing, you will so enjoy it after such a long time. The dogs already do 😊.,…the space.., and you can dance too 😉
Thank you, Ute. I’m happy to help to make this dream of My Beloved come true. She deserves it. One of my dreams is to ensure she has all she needs and at least some of what she wants. I’ll be thrilled when this phase of the housing upgrade is completed. Having a bigger and fancier house was never on my wish list. I’ll no doubt enjoy and be grateful for the new and improved house, but I enjoyed and was grateful for the old and smaller one. I’m content to just to have a roof that doesn’t leak over my head, and solid walls, doors, and floors, things that many millions of people lack. That said, I’m delighted by my new office.
😊 your Beloved has an exceptional husband, give her my regards and best wishes , enjoy your home together to the full. ❤️
how amazing, the transformation. even though, it has been somewhat inconvenient and a challenge to work around, it’s clearly all worth it. how wonderful when you can just ‘move back into’ your spaces and places and just enjoy them –
I dream of that day! My dream has far more to do with what I’ll no longer be dealing with relating to the construction than with the pleasure of living in my our upgraded home. But hey, a dream’s a dream! The new and improved sections of our home are part of Heidi’s dream and I’m delighted to help make it come true for her.
It’s lovely Russ.
Thank you, Colleen.
Looking really good 💜
Thank you, Willow.

Thank you, Joanne.
Yay…I’m seeing the home stretch and envisioning it with you two all moved it and operating from those spaces. 😁
That’s a delightful vision. Please hold that thought, Mrs. P.
Wow- what a difference, huh? Ivory yiu have many decades to enjoy the fruits of all this labor! Looks beautiful, Russ.
Ivory?? That should have said “I pray you have…” Where’s spellcheck when you need it? Or did it help botch it up??
LOL! I know what you mean about spellcheck. Sometimes it seems more of a curse than a blessing! Thank your your prayer, Jan. May you and your husband have many decades to enjoy the fruits of your labor as well.
