The Best Thing About Being a Writer

IMG_2650

I’ve begun exploring Goodreads in earnest. I highly recommend it for writers and readers. One of its many features gives readers the opportunity to ask questions of writers. Below is a question from the site and my answer.

What is the best thing about being a writer?

“I’m blessed with being able to learn much about myself as I create characters, settings, situations, dreams, fears, challenges, and settings to be experienced by readers in their own unique ways around the world. Writing creates the opportunity for writers and readers to learn more about themselves and others, fostering greater understanding and closer connections.”

If you already use Goodreads, I invite you to friend or follow me, and if you aren’t I recommend you check it out.

About russtowne

I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.
