It’s critically important to me to share my truth in everything I write, perhaps my fiction most of all. I owe readers as much of me as I have the courage to express in my books: Love, pain, shame, grief, joy, angst, fear, anticipation, weakness, strength, ineptitude, exhilaration, doubt, contentment, loneliness, contempt, kindness, empathy, rejection, abandonment, hope, and victory, and defeat. The more of me I share in my books, the more connected a reader is likely to feel to me and my work, to their own heart and themselves, and to the world.
With Love,
Russ

It’s also a goldmine for future generations who want to know more about their ancestors. I remember being floored when I discovered a great, great aunt was a published writer! 😀 I can see some time in the future…someone pouring through all of your books and blogs to get a peek at who you were. 😀 😀
I’d love for that to occur. The readers of future generations could quickly discover that despite all that transpired in-between, earlier generations weren’t so different from them after all. Thank you for your thought- and heart-provoking comment Mrs P.

My life is an open book and I share maybe way too much, but that is me
Hopefully you’re enjoying your story so far, Joanne.

That explains the connection I feel when I read your posts, my friend.

Your truth does show through Russ. And it is wonderful to connect with that truth.
Thank you, Colleen. I feel the same way about your creations.
