Why are they called cowboys when they ride horses not cows?
With Love,

Because they are…right!
Huh?
😉🤗😉😉😉
Indeed it is
(Big smile.)
Lol. Maybe because they round up cows.
They certainly do that.
Russ
One of those unanswered questions….. probably they used to ride cows once or tried it at least.
You never know. Some cowboys do ride bulls in rodeos.
Russ
Ha! Good damn question. Hot dogs always perplexed me.
LOL! I can see why! Where the heck did that name come from?
Russ
Because they use to herd cows across country. They rode on horses because it was they only mode of transportation. This was before trains. It was quite dangerous and not as glamorous as Hollywood made it to be.
Thanks Shian. Yes, most people who were cowboys or in the enlisted ranks in the army were poor, often recent immigrants, and not infrequently escaping from trouble back east. The wild west was not an easy life for such folks, and the jobs available to men and women in those situations were tough, miserable, and often dangerous.
