Clyde and Blossom the Butterfly Team Up to Encourage Early Childhood Literacy

Clyde and Blossom

The above links take you to videos featuring Pamela Beckford (aka Blossom the Butterfly) reading all three of my Clyde stories, and books from other writers. The shows can be seen  on YouTube:

This is all part of efforts to encourage early childhood literacy by Pamela and the United Way of Wells County.  Thank you, Pamela Beckford and United Way!

If you are an independent writer of children’s books, I recommend contacting Pamela regarding possibly having your creations featured in this wonderful program. I found Pamela a delight to work with and enthusiastically support her program.

With Love,

Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.

I wrote my dissertation on the importance of reading to young children to prepare their future linguistic competency, so this is brilliant. Thank you!

Cool! I agree, and have seen many benefits of reading to young children through my own children and my grandchildren. I believe in it so much that I volunteered as a reading tutor for several elementary school aged children. It seemed to boost their self-confidence as well as their reading and comprehension skills.

This is brilliant Russ, Great of Pamela to to it as a you tube, like that it can spread more and even reach children of parents who don’t read to them. I know that your stories are loved in my school!
