During our last trip to the area in November, my Beloved bought this mounted photo of the splendor and majesty of a beach near Big Sur. Greg Magee is the photographer. If I understand the story correctly, the sun only shines through the natural tunnel like that once per year, on the Equinox. I love the golden glow and radiance as the photographer captured the sun as it exploded in the wave at precisely the right moment.
Sadly, my photo of the photo washes out much of the vibrancy of the colors, but it gives you at least a little hint of the beauty of what my Beloved gave to me and that is hanging in front of me over my desk. It inspires me, and I feel a great connection and spirituality when I experience it.

I can’t imagine that it could be even more beautiful than this!
The beauty of the area and the photo are nearly indescribable. Thank you for your kind comment, Mimi.

Russ – No matter where I live, I’ll always consider Monterey/Carmel home. I had the privilege of living there for 13 miraculous years. Each time I flew into Monterey, I felt as if I were coming home all over again. In the 64 moves my career took me, it was Monterey/Carmel that captured my heart and soul. I spent my last 6 years there taking the red eye out of San Francisco to DC every Sunday night just in time to go to work in DC on Monday morning. Then on Friday night – no matter how late I had to work, I always managed a return trip to Monterey and the coast I loved. I’d hoped I could escape living in DC but when Fort Ord closed, the writing was on the wall and I had to go – but other than God bringing my husband and his unconditional love into my life, the experience of living and loving the central coast of California is high on the list. We’d planned to return there to retire but at the present time, God has other plans for us. We are located where my husband has the best medical care of any place we’ve lived in the entire world. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. Your beloved gave you a treasured gift indeed. Sheri
Your comment brought smiles and many wonderful memoires to me, Sheri. I to always feel at home there.
