A New Site

Hi, everyone. I apologize for fading away for a while. I’ve been heavily focused on the release of my two children’s books, and just created a new blog called “Rusty Bear” which you can find at http://rustybear.me

I’ve noticed that some readers of “A Grateful Man” would love to have more frequent updates as to my various creative projects, while some would love to have fewer posts related to the process but are happy to see the completed creation.

Rusty Bear was created for those who want to experience more posts about the genesis of projects, my inspiration, behind-the-scenes looks at what goes into turning an idea into a finished creation, more details about my creative adventures and misadventures, what worked, what didn’t, and my best guesses as to why I go the result. I also plan to introduce you to talented and wonderful people in the creative world that I meet along the way.

For readers who are new to “A Grateful Man”, I plan to re-blog some of my better related posts on Rusty Bear.

I invite you to check out “Rusty Bear” for yourself! It is still under construction so please be patient.

Thank you!

Love,
Russ

Russ, when my kids were little, I had written a couple of childrens books, hoping to publish them. I edited 4 books for my dad, his publisher had some health issues and my books never got done. I have a novel that I have written and rewritten for 33 years. Some things in it became too close to real life in the past years, but ho knows. I have a friend who recently published a mystery, it was nice! Even though i have a couple of friends who write for magazines or the paper, I have never gotten in with the right people. If you have any suggestions of publishers or ideas, I’d love to hear them! Beebee-Brenda

Hi, beebee. Your comment is interesting. I think many people hope to publish someday. I bypassed the normal “submit it to publishers and keep getting rejection slips” approach and went straight to self-publishing using Kickstarter crowd-sourcing. If you are interested in pursuing self-publishing, I recommend that you check out both Kickstarter.com and Createspace.com. I’m using the latter for printing my books. You’ll be able to learn a lot more about the process and how it went for me by following me at RustyBear.Me. You’re also welcome to email or phone me to discuss in greater detail as to what I’m doing, how, and why. I also have some great contacts for professional editors, interior layout and cover designers, printing/publishing consultants, and illustrators too.
