I have long admired the accomplishments of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan. When I saw the title of this post, I got excited because I realized that I’d never heard or seen Helen Keller speak. It was a real treat for me. Thank you for this fascinating post, BearsPawPrint.

She was truly an amazing person! beebee
I agree. She made a large positive impact on the world 100 years ago and is still be talked about today. What a wonderful legacy!

Bloody mavellous thanks for sharing I have not heard or seen this before
Both Helen and Anne were remarkable people…they opened up the opportunities for so many other deaf-blind people to develop communication skills, interact more fully with family and friends, participate in education and go on to live rich and fulfilling lives. Wonderful video of Anne and her…I had never seen video of Helen when she was a young woman.
(Many years ago, I lived in Sullivan Cottage at Perkins School for the Blind, while training to become a teacher of Deaf Blind children…a bright, joyful and lively group of kids!)
Thank you for your interesting insights and comments. May you always feel welcome here.

This is amazing footage about two remarkable women.
I agree. If either had failed to do their part I wonder if anyone today would have ever heard of either of them. They made a wonderfully effective team.
