They Were

They were
“Committed”
To each other
Mostly
Nearly
Almost
Largely
Sort of
Partially
But one day
They realized
That commitment
Isn’t a sometime
Or partial thing
It’s all or nothing
And there is beauty
And strength
In commitment
When both
Are ready
–Russ Towne

The above came to me as I took a few-minute mental break from my quarterly letters and reports, and I decided to capture and share it before the fleeting thoughts vanished like a cool mist in a desert’s inferno.

Love,
Russ

  1. Hi Russ,
That’s how it works. If you can stop everything and write when it happens, do it because that’s the voice (voice of inspiration) I find it hard when I get inspired and I ‘can’t’ stop to write!
The poem was captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
    Cheers,
    Jennifer

LOL! Thank you for your wonderful comment, Mimi. I laughed because there are a lot of adjectives I have used or thought of to describe how I think and somehow “beautiful” has probably never been one of them! I’m grateful for the second opinion from someone I hold in such high regard!
