Some folks say there’s too much silence
When out in the country
If only they could hear
All the sounds that inspire me
The leaves on each tree do their own little dance
As they sway to every tune
When darkness falls the owls join in
And sing their love song to the moon
And sunrise brings out the best in birds
As they begin their own unique songs
Except the Mockingbird who knows them all
And simply sings along
From the music of each waterfall
To the tinkle of each stream
Each drop of rain does its part
As it circles ‘round again
All come together in a wondrous way
To sing and play for me
I’m enchanted by the forest choir
And Nature’s symphony.
In every note of music
In each whisper of the wind
When I’m away from the country
I can’t wait to get back again.

Very nice Russ..Sometimes we’re oblivious to the ‘quiet’ sounds around us…Diane
Thank you, Diane. I know what you mean. When I forget to focus on the present it is easy to miss the gifts.

I love that symphony. Wonderful poem Russ….Enchanting
Thank you, Jen. Speaking of enchanting, I plan to visit your enchanting online home real soon.

I will be very happy to have you!
Wonderful poem! It totally evokes the feeling of the country 🙂
Thank you, Andrea. You’ve probably noticed that the poem morphed into a song called “Nature’s Symphony” in a later post.
Russ
I did! I love that you shared its transition with us.
Thank you for letting me know. My sense is that my posts containing my songs and poems on average get substantially fewer “Likes” than my quotes and stories. It appears that my songs and poems don’t resonate as well with readers as my other types of posts. I’m pondering the implications of that.
