One of my favorite movies is Secondhand Lions. Below is a quote from it that I love. It is a scene where an old man (portrayed by Robert Duvall) tells a young boy about things worth believing in:
“Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love… true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.”

I never saw the movie, but your quote moves me to tears..
Thank you for your feedback, Mimi. If you like movies that are quirky comedies with a bitter-sweet edge, have suspense, action, mystery, romance, best buddies, a young boy, where the bad people get what they deserve, happy endings, dogs, horses, lions, philosphy, Robert Duvall, Michael Caine, Haley Joel Osment, silliness, and are about living life to the fullest, surrounded by those you love, then you might want to consider watching Secondhand Lions.
Not that I have any strong feelings on the subject or anything… ;-D!

too long for twitter lol!
Oh well! I appreciate the effort to spread that great message! Whoever wrote that screenplay sure nailed that part of the movie–and many other parts as far as I’m concerned.
