Family Night Delight

Thomas with ToysIMG_0188Heidi Tickling Thomas' feet

Guess who stole the show again at our Sunday Family Night? You guessed it! Our grandson Thomas!

In the third photo, Grandma (My Beloved) is tickling him by making, (uh, how do I say this?) farty noises on the souls of his feet. He loves it–and is pretty good at being able to make “farty” noices all by himself.

Speaking of grandchildren, our second son and his wife found out that the twins they are expecting are both boys! They better start saving now to pay for the astronomical food bills they are likely to have when their kids become teenagers! I speak from experience.

Love,
Russ
P.S. I believe that I’ve shown considerable restraint by not showing a lot more photos of our grandson on this site. I figure that while he is the cutest thing in the world to us, you have your own cutest things to admire.

  1. I can feel you beaming with love from here… :0)

  2. Why restrain yourself?? He’s adorable!! I’m not a grandma yet but wonder if being a grandma is as wonderful as being a mom. Your thoughts…I mean comparing being a dad to being a grandpa?

Grandparenting wins hands down. You get all the benefits of parenting, with a fraction of the responsibilities, costs, etc. You’re almost always the good guy/gal. They love to see you all the time. There are far fewer diaper changes. Someone else is up all night dealing with crying kids, or ill children, and worried as to whether they should be taken to the emergency room. You get to spoil ’em and send ’em home. ;-D!

Don’t get me wrong. I loved/love being a dad. I just love being a grandpa EVEN MORE!
