Learning to See

“We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.” ~Sam Keen (Source: tinybuddha via Facebook)

I love this quote. To me, love is about looking past a person’s human imperfections to the beauty within their heart and spirit, and remaining focused there.

About russtowne

I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.

  1. Isn’t that just so simply true? Kind of like beauty being in the eye of the beholder, which is true, too. Who knows why my hubs thinks I’m adorable (or annoying depending on the day), he truly looks at me in a way I don’t see myself. I think I’m gonna go give him a hug and a kiss right now!

“I think I’m gonna go give him a hug and a kiss right now!” Sounds like a good plan to me. I plan to do the same wiith My Beloved when she comes home from work.
