“In this life we are all just walking up the mountain and we can sing as we climb or we can complain about our sore feet. Whichever we choose, we still gotta do the hike. I decided a long time ago singing made a lot more sense.”

This pretty much sums up my philosophy too. Not only about attitude, but that there are various ways to reach the top of the mountain and who am I to say that my way is better than anyone else’s?

About russtowne
I'm awed by the beauty of nature and the power of love and gratitude. Some of my favorite sensory experiences include waves crashing on rocky shores, waterways in ancient redwood and fern-filled forests, and rain. My wife and I have been married since 1979. We have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. I manage a wealth management firm that I founded in 2003. My Beloved is a Special Education teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. I'm a published author of approximately 60 books in a variety of genres for grownups and children.
Me too — I have learned over the years to have an attitude of gratitude! It is a much more fun way to climb those mountains. 🙂 Blessings – Patty
I like that saying and believe in it, as well as “attitude determines altitude”. Thank you, Patty.
Absolutely love this quote! Thanks for reminding me about this one, mr Russ.Good evening!
I’m glad that it resonated for you, too!
Russ
That is brilliant. Going to have to remember that one – might even print it out and frame it!
I’m glad it resonated for you! Thank you for letting me know.
I love it!! I, too, will copy and share with a friend who doesn’t sing.
Thank you for your kind comment. May your life be full of songs, and may most of them be happy ones.
I would love to be around when your singing starts. I’ll bet it’s beautiful!
Thank you, Claremary. I see with you blog and book your singing has started and I like the sound of it!
Nice to chat with a kindred spirit. It’s been quite damp down here in South Carolina this week (We’re on vacation in a state while it was undergoing a storm of historical proportion!) But you’ve brought sunshine and smiles to ward off the rain.
It is indeed. I’m glad you can feel the sunshine and warm thoughts that are being sent your way. If you don’t mind, we could sure use some of those rainstorms in drought-stricken California! I hope your vacation is a memorable adventure and you return home safely.

Leave it to us to go on vacation to a state that is having an “historic weather event”. We were in California this spring and it was a bit cold around Monterey. I loved the Aquarium. But we have fun no matter what. Good attitudes! Thanks, Russ.
i’m the same, russ. it’s a choice we make.
In my case it’s a choice I have to keep making over and over again until I get it right! ;-D!
Thank you of your comment, Beth.
