I lived much of my life in great fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of making a fool of myself. Fear of being different or wierd.
Now I know that everyone is different and in some ways weird. And if everyone is weird, then weird is probably not so weird after all! ;-D! Isn’t that weird?
When the discomfort of not sharing myself with the world became greater than my fear of doing so, I finally began to let the world see who I am. And to the world’s great credit, and my great relief and gratitude, it reacted to who I am much better than I ever dreamed possible. Thank you world! Thank you readers!

I have spent most of my life in fear of one thing or another, People not liking me, upsetting people and so on. It is nice to know that there are other people out in the big wide world that have felt the same things in their lives. I’m not as brave as you, as yet, but I do hope to find the real me one day. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Oh boy, Russ, this is good stuff. I’ve been hiding from the digital space for a bit, thinking about life and my steps ahead. I like the quote here. There’s been quite a bit of self-doubt, wondering what I can/cannot do, how to move on etc. Fear of rejection, and being weird, are but just two of my troubles. I still live behind my virtual identity online. Some day maybe, I’ll wish to share more than hide.

I find that it is when I make myself most vulnerable with people I love that I feel most connected to them. Virtually all of the people with whom I’ve interacted on the blogosphere appear to be wonderful and wonderfully supportive. If I were to run into someone who has chosen a different path, I would know that whatever unkindness may occur is about the pain they are experiencing and has nothing to do with me. I encourge you to keep taking more steps in your journey of revelation of your spirit and believe that you will be astounded by how wonderful you are, how much you can bring to the world, and how appreciative the world is when you do. I honor your courage for taking the steps you’ve already taken and look foreward to experiencing more of you!

Can relate to this. It takes a lot of courage to show yourself to the world with all that we are. Always admired people who could effortlessly just be themselves all the time. What a loss world has experiences Russ! 🙂
