Something Wonderful Is About To Happen

“Wake up every morning with the thought that something wonderful is about to happen.” — Unknown (at least to me)

I truly believe in the wisdom of this approach to life. The more I use it the fewer “Bad” days I have. It’s gotten to the point where my bad days are so few and far betwen that I can’t even remember my last one.

In addition to our family and friends and my profession, my passions include writing poetry, song lyrics, and non-fiction short stories; tending a fern garden and small redwood grove on our property, hiking in ancient old-growth redwood forests, and watching old movie classics.

Thank you! It’s been great so far :) I hope yours is the same!

Great so far too. Hung out with 40 good men in a park with redwoods on a beautiful morning yesterday, then my Beloved and I went to a double feature of old movie classics (The Quiet Man and Sitting Pretty) at a beautiful 1930′s Golden Age of Hollywood-era theater then we went to dinner. It was a wonderful and inexpensive day. I added the “inexpensive” because we are consciously living more frugally (less wastefully) and I know that many people are looking for things to do that don’t cost a lot of money. Today, I plan to blog, work around the yard and some others things that need doing, then tonight is Family Night, and tomorrow we get to spend the day with our four month old grandson. Life is good. Real good.

That sounds a fantastic weekend! I love going to old movies in the theater, there’s something magical about it :) And of course, family time is always rejuvenating.

I spent a lot of time reading, enjoying the rest of the sunshine and the cool evenings! The turn towards fall is one of my favorite times of the year.

  2. I wanted to let you know that I nominated you for a Blogger Award. You can find it here: http://thoughtsfromanamericanwoman.wordpress.com/2012/08/31/blog-awards/ and this post is the reason – as I get ready to settle in for the night, I will go to sleep with those words in my mind and wake up tomorrow with those thoughts to start off my day. My husband always says all of his days are good it is just that some are better than others! Blessings!

  3. Ah, you see, this is why I love reading your posts, Russ! Today and from now on I will make a point of noting and being grateful for all the good things that happen.

    • russtowne says:

Thank you kindly, Michelle! May that single decision bring major positive changes to your life as you make a point of noting and being grateful for all the good things that happen.

The changes can sometimes take time or happen gradually but if you are patient and stay focused on the good things in life, I believe you will wake up one day and realize that your life has been transformed in awesome ways. I’m excited at all the possibilities that making this decision creates for you!

    • russtowne says:

Thank you, Mimi, and to all those who take the time to read my posts, for you magically make my mere humble words on a screen alive when you do. And for that, and your friendships, I will be eternally grateful.
