I think it is harder to forgive when you are younger. Maybe we aren’t wise enough, or have too much passion.
I think that is often true. Perhaps it is because for most younger folks we hadn’t yet grown to fully love ourselves and become confident in who we are as individuals. One thing I have learned for certain is that no matter the age of the person going through it, the pain and sense of betrayal can feel terrible. It is even worse if one is going through it alone, without good friends who love them.
