My apologies to readers who saw this post not long ago. It is my favorite post. Many new followers and readers have joined my blog family since it was posted and I don’t want to wait a year to share it with them.

My Beloved was once asked in front of a group of 50 or 60 men, “What do you believe is your most important job as a wife? Some of the men looked at me to see if I knew what her answer would be. I just shrugged, as I had no idea.
She replied, “To protect his heart.”
She added, “It’s my most important job to never break his heart.”
I cherish that woman.

About russtowne
My wife and I have been married for over 33 years. We have 3 adult children and recently became grandparents for the first time, with a second one on the way! I founded, own, and operate an investment management and advisory firm. My wife is a Special Ed teacher for Kindergartners and First Graders. In addition to our family and friends and my profession, my passions include writing poetry, song lyrics, and non-fiction short stories; tending a fern garden and small redwood grove on our property, hiking in ancient old-growth redwood forests, and watching old movie classics.
a huge responsibility that is, too….. it sounds as if you guys were a match made in heaven ♥
I agree! A match made in heaven and worked at on earth.
Sadly, I know of many others who worked at their marriage and had a different outcome. I am lucky and blessed, and the best way that I know to respond to both gifts is with gratitude and appreciation.
